Today was a great day to be a part of our East Grand Rapids Girls Cross Country  17 other teams
Team.  You girls stepped up on the biggest stage of the year and performed above
everybody's expectations.  The most important people believed in our team - ourselves!!!
Talk about peaking at the right time!  5 PR's and Buckles was knocking on the door!!   Our training over the last few weeks really
prepared you for the big meets.  More importantly you prepared yourselves mentally and as a team to perform your best.
Raeanne got the monkey off her back!  A PR that has been hanging around since freshmen year and a new number to be
identified with -- 18's.  Congratulations on your third All-State performance!  Jenny had an extra gear that she discovered and came
so close to an All-State Day.  It doesn't matter to us because you ran with incredible heart.  Buckles proclaimed that she never
hurt so bad after a race -- absolutely beautiful words to hear for your last race ever!  Downtown Nikki Brown showed so much
strength and heart throughout the race despite not feeling well.  It would've been easy to give up, but we all know that's not a part
of your personality.  Breezy, Lauren, and Katie -- big time finishes and experience in an intense setting.  Take these memories
and let them motivate you for the future!  Although we have some big shoes to fill - we have some big time runners to fill them.
The most successful era in Cross Country has come to an end.  But, the seniors left a strong foundation for this new group of
girls to continue what they started.  Our five freshmen gained valuable experience over the past two weeks to leave the future in
very good hands.
Congratulations Seniors!  You did it with class and hard work for an entire four years.  We couldn't ask for a more complete
group of girls that supplied leadership and dedication to our team and school.
Seniors -- How's this sound?  2 State Championships, 1 Top 10 Finish, and now a Runner-Up Finish to cap your careers!
Not many people can match a high school career like that!  Although the results are impressive the most important part
of your time here are the memories with your teammates you'll be taking away with you.  Nobody can ever take those away
from you.
